Garden
Fionna’s interests have extended from floral design to gardening. She loves gardening and is currently involved in community gardening and also growing on a small balcony. Fionna writes about her gardening experiences in ‘A Green Granny’s Garden’ – an account of her first year as a novice in a strictly organic community garden. She also writes and illustrates magazine features on gardening and lifestyle DIY activities.
Fionna is keen to encourage children to garden and eat healthily. In line with this, she began a popular school garden club for a group of primary school children. They came weekly to garden and share many other related activities in their own plot at a community garden and took home their produce to share.
Experimenting growing unusual edibles like burdock, perilla and Myoga ginger is another interest.
Growing edibles in pots was the inspiration for her new book, ‘How to Grow Edibles in Containers.” Microgreen growing led to her successful book, ‘How to Grow Microgreens, Nature’s own Superfood.’
